CREATING RECYCLED PRODUCT FROM WOOD RESOURCES
Our 62 Acre wood processing facility utilizes the latest state of the art wood recycling equipment to create landscape products including mulch, biochar, and biomass. Wood product is collected and transported to our recycling facilities in commingled containers where it is sorted out by type. Sorted wood product is then transported to our wood processing facility where we transform wood into new materials.
Champion Mulch Magic
Our colored mulch is made through a multi-step technical process when the wood is delivered to our processing facility. Wood is first sorted by type depending on the product and size we are making. Sorted wood product are then loaded into one of our grinders for processing which then creates smaller wood fibers as they pass through different screen sizes. The ground wood fibers enter a coloring water-based system, whereby ultra-concentrated, environmentally safe colorant is mixed with water and applied to the wood fibers. The colorant completely encapsulates the wood, ensuring maximum adherence and UV protection.
BIOCHAR: THE FUTURE OF WOOD RECYCLING
Biochar is the solid product remaining after the biomass is carbonized and can be used as a soil amendment. Biochar is a stable solid, rich in carbon, and can endure in soil for thousands of years. Like most charcoal, biochar is made from biomass via pyrolysis.
